ALONE IT STANDS is the feel-good play of the summer, a tale for anyone who has ever dreamed the impossible.

Overview

The David vs. Goliath story of the all-amateur Munster rugby team tackling the might of the All Blacks jumps from modern Irish folklore onto the stage, with as much heart and excitement as any nail-biting rugby match.

John Breen’s fast and funny play is a showcase for the cast of six, taking on 62 roles including players, wives, fans, the coach and…the team dog.

Hilarious, moving and heart-warming, ALONE IT STANDS ultimately makes winners of us all. You’ll be hooked!

Reviews

★★★★½ "This is rare: a play that has a beating heart as big as a hug from your mum, and yet is not even slightly mawkish. Even rarer, it has that heart, and yet is about the skull-splintering game of rugby union. Rarer still, it’s the most physical play I’ve seen." The Sydney Morning Herald

"theatrical magic" Sydney Arts Guide

“The immensely likeable ensemble of six brings great charm and humour, to the 62 roles they ardently perform, on a stage relentless with its delightful effervescence.” Suzy Goes See

"here is a play with so much heart and that communicates so much joy.” Jasper Bruce - AAP Sports Reporter

"a real crowd-pleaser" Scribbles of Stage and Screen

“This play is not just for rugby enthusiasts; it’s a human story interwoven with humour, emotion and a deep sense of community.” The Plus Ones

“great fun and really gets the audience buzzing.” Stage Whispers
