Just a hop, skip and a jump north of the bridge from the CBD, Ensemble Theatre is situated in a heritage-listed boatshed on the water in Kirribilli.
The next stop north after Wynyard Station, take the train to Milsons Point station, exit at Ennis Rd and it’s just a 5 minute walk down Willoughby Street.
The most scenic way to travel, treat yourself and jump on a ferry from Circular Quay to North Sydney (a 10 minute walk) or Kirribilli Wharf (a 10 – 15 minute walk).
There’s free (but time-limited) street parking all around the theatre. Please allow ample time to park before your performance or booking at Bayly’s Bistro.
Val the Matinee Bus
We offer a bus service for weekday matinee performances. The bus departs from Ennis Rd, outside Milsons Point train station from 10am to 10.45am, then returns to the station after the performance. We also offer an after-lunch service for Bayly’s Bistro diners. Bookings are not required but there is a suggested $3 donation to help cover costs.
This service is offered thanks to the generosity of our donors, Ros and Alex Hunyour. Ros’ mother Val Lovett treasured her visits to the Ensemble and the bus is fondly named in her memory.
Due to physical distancing requirements capacity is restricted and please remember to wear your mask.
Your safety is our priority
Ensemble Theatre is a COVID Safe registered business and we’ve made some operational changes to ensure your safety.
AUDIO DESCRIBED PERFORMANCES
Vision Australia provide a complimentary audio description service for patrons who are blind or have low vision. Audio described performances are marked AD in the performance calendar.
Ensemble Theatre has a hearing loop which amplifies sound for specific areas of seating. If you have a hearing impairment please request seating within the hearing loop when booking. Receivers are also available from the Box Office and should be booked in advance.
WHEELCHAIR SEATS AND LEVEL ACCESS
We are fully wheelchair accessible, have wheelchair friendly seating and F row in our theatre has street level access. Let us know where you need to sit when completing your subscription form, or book a seat in Row F when purchasing tickets to individual shows online.
If in doubt contact the Box Office to discuss seating options on 02 8918 3400.
We invite audience members with vision impairments to join us for a tactile tour before our Audio Described performances. The stage manager and trained guide will deliver a detailed backstage tour and explore the production through informed discussion, touch and sound. The tour will include carefully controlled tactile opportunities to handle props and costumes.
Tours are free to attend and open to friends and carers. Please arrive 1 hour before your performance and check-in at the Box Office.
Spaces are limited and you must adhere to Ensemble’s COVID Safe policy. Masks are required to be worn at all times and please hand sanitise before the tour commences. All set and prop items will be sanitised before and after the tactile tour.
To book, call the Box Office on (02) 8919 3400 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
