From 31 January 2008 Hannah (Vanessa Downing) is a contradiction. She’s a church minister, but an unconventional, outspoken one. She’s a loving mother, but meddlesome and demanding. She needs an expert to help her interpret a newly discovered gospel, but hires Brandt (Matthew Moore), young, charming and hopelessly unqualified. Hannah’s son, Thomas (Lee Jones), is forever at odds with his mother and eventually their pressurised relationship explodes, revealing painful secrets, unexpected honesty and unshakeable bonds.
