Ensemble Theatre is actively committed to continually improve our website’s accessibility and ensure compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines ( WCAG ) developed by W3C at an AA level.
Website Accessibility
To enhance the accessibility of the website, we’ve implemented the following features:
- Use of Semantic HTML and ARIA attributes for better experience with assistive technologies.
- Sufficient colour contrast for text readability.
- A skip link that provides mechanism to jump past the the list of navigation items to the main content of the page.
- Tab navigation for primary keyboard users.
While using the website, you should be able to:
- Change contrast levels and colours via specialised browsing modes or assistive plugin.
- Zoom in up to 400% without the text overlapping.
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard or assistive softwares. This includes links, headings and buttons.
Known Issues & Ongoing Improvements
Despite our best efforts, we know some part of this website are not accessible. These include the following:
- Ensuring all images have descriptive alternative text to help users with assistive screen-reader technology.
- Third-party integrations that may not be fully accessible yet. Some of our known integrations include:
- SoundCloud (for playlist embeds)
- Spotify (for playlists & podcast embeds)
- Apple Podcasts (for podcast embeds)
- Tumblr (for blog links)
