Anita (Hollie Andrew), with an innocent looking face and guilty looking body, has volunteered to read books to cranky, blind, former college dean Peter Ravenswaal (John McTernan). By reading to the blind, Anita wants to find a sense of purpose while Ravenswaal wants to hear Keats, Schopenhauer and A Hooker By Choice.
Complicating matters are an exasperated nurse (Natalie Fulton), a dangerous boyfriend (Jonathon Freeman) and attempted blackmail, topped off with a smattering of T.S.Eliot. Wrong Turn At Lungfish is funny and poignant, a play about the blind leading the blind and ultimately seeing the light.
Co-authors Garry Marshall and Lowell Ganz have had successful creative careers in film and television. Marshall directed the feature films Pretty Woman, Frankie & Johnny and the recent Georgia Rule; he also created the television series’ Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley and The Odd Couple, while Ganz coauthored City Slickers and Splash.
