Darius McReele (Kenneth Ransom) is an African-American death row inmate convicted of murdering a white man. Rick Dayne (Ben Ager) is a leading journalist intrigued by Darius’ claims of innocence and his ideas on prison reform.
When Rick meets the charismatic prisoner, he feels compelled to get Darius’ sixteen-year-old murder conviction overturned. Rick’s girlfriend, Katya (Ivy Mak), is worried that Darius is too good to be true, while Darius’ ex-girlfriend Opal (Pamela Jikiemi) is not so happy to see him on the outside. With freedom, Darius can lead the life he wants, become a political speaker, run for senate or perhaps even one day US President?
Darius’ underprivileged background and magnetic personality make him a darling of the lecture circuit, leading to national attention and political viability. Even though Rick believes in Darius, one question still remains: is he innocent or is he guilty?
