Sandra Bates MessageI am once again delighted to write and enclose for your enjoyment, details of our 2010 subscription season. 2009 has been a great year full of wonderful productions and some interesting challenges which we will continue on with during the coming year.
Once again in 2010 we will be presenting to you a season of 10 plays, all of which will be staged at the Ensemble Theatre. This necessitates the doubling up of productions which offers a number of great opportunities to see two productions on one night so that you get the full season experience without having to attend more than once every 6-8 weeks. Many of our productions are either one act or under two hours even with an interval and so, for the dedicated theatre-goer it is possible to see one performance at 6.00pm which will finish at 7.30pm and then another at 8.15pm or 8.30pm which will still be finished around 10.00pm. We have included approximate running times on each play for your information to help you when making decisions about which performance time to attend.
For the 2010 season we are offering a split payment system for your subscriptions. As we know that most arts companies launch their seasons at the same time it can be a very expensive time of year, especially so close to Christmas. You can therefore pay 50% of your subscription cost upfront and the remaining 50% on 1 February 2010. An administration fee of $5.00 will be added at this time but all your tickets will be sent to you after the first payment has been deducted. In order to take up this offer you will need to submit your subscription before 1 December 2009.
The weekday matinee bus service to Milsons Point Station will continue to run after every 11am performance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The restaurant will be open for lunch after every weekday matinee and the bus will take restaurant patrons to the station following their lunch. Although we love being able to provide this service, the cost of doing so is very high and we would be very grateful for any donations or support that can be provided for this service. If you would be interested in sponsoring (or part-sponsoring) the bus, please contact our General Manager.
Single tickets will go on sale for the 2010 season on 23 November 2009. We therefore recommend you return your form as soon as possible to take full advantage of the subscriber priority period. With the line-up of plays on offer for 2010 along with the fabulous actors we have already cast in each one – with more to come, I have no doubt that you will find it difficult to choose between them and so all I can say is – book them all!
